Police Officer Suffers Fatality After Truck Crash in East Austin
AUSTIN (KXAN) — An Austin area law enforcement officer lost his life after being hit by an 18-wheeler early Wednesday morning in east Austin. The site of the crash was the 7800 block of FM 969 near Decker Lane.
On the night of the truck accident local law enforcement responded to a call after the 18-wheeler made an improper U-turn, causing the nearby officers patrol car to be lodged underneath the tractor-trailer. The Austin-American Statesman provides that an investigation regarding the commercial driver's has not been completed at this time. We are unaware as to whether the accident involved contributing factors.
